08:09 AM ET 05.24 | Lamar Odom's future remains up in the air, though there's some sentiment for him returning to a big market. The Mavs will attempt to trade Odom before June 29. Any team that has Odom on its roster by that date will be responsible for paying him the $2.4 million in guaranteed money he's owed next year. ... If the Mavericks are forced to waive Odom, he would become a free agent. In that scenario, the Queens native would likely be looking at a significant pay cut from the $8.2 he was scheduled to make this season. Would he be interested in coming to New York at a discounted rate? A source with knowledge of Odom's thinking says yes. The source says the Knicks would be "on the top of his list" if Odom became a free agent.

let the dramas begin

Can't be any worse than what they have coming off the bench at $2.4 million that is a pretty low risk. Knicks management should jump all over this.

QUOTE(#4):

he is not on the top of my list.

No freakin way. I hope we don't go after this clown. If we've learned anything from Eddy Curry it should be that once you lose your body your never get it back! His whole mentality of doing well when he's comfortable shows how weak minded he is. The great one's thrive with their back against the wall. Plus NYC ballers don't usually do well in the area... Marbury, Jason Williams, Carmelo Anthony... they all suck when they play at home. Man F this move. If he's a real man he's head to Charlotte where his services are needed.

Our bench is already good with Novac, Smith and Lin. We need to focus on getting a veteran back up point guard. Odom is washed up and will remain that way. No way in hell Knicks go after him...

If you want real drama you might as well rehire Isaiah...

Lamar will be 33 years old next season, he should take the highest paying gig he can find and retire in 2 years.

The Knicks have enough problems without having to baby a guy as mentally weak as Odom, Tyson Chandler might actually make him cry mid game.

QUOTE(#7):

Not bad for $2.4 million for NY. There's a big chance he will be a Knick. Marion and Odom will be traded to NY. Amare goes to new Orleans and Kaman goes to Dallas.

Yeah but I thought Kaman was a free agent so they would have to do a sign and trade and that may work. That would also mean you guys would be investing 10+Mill at least in Kaman right and close to that in Haywood. You must also think you are trading Haywood too. I can't see them signing Kaman and still paying Haywood though otherwise they could have just paid Chandler last year. Either way Dallas has to make some serious decisions to either shed salary to make a play for Derron Williams or resign Terry, Kidd, Mahinmi etc. Your squad will be making major changes I see no way around it.

Give Kobe A Call, Bro.

Careful Knicks.........the potential is always there. The end result will fall short. With Odom, that's always been the case. Somebody will take the bait though, and he'll get one more payday.

Novak, Novak....really? Lets see...he could not even attempt a shot in nealy 5 games in the playoffs. He plays zero defense. He grabs zero rebounds. He cannot create a shot off the dribble. So the Knicks need him only in meaningless (most cases) regular season games.

Novak vs Odom........Odom any day @ 2.5 mil........what can you lose? everything to gain!

Davis, Fields, Bibby can all go too. These three vs. Odom @ 2.5 mil.....Odom any day!

Walker, Douglas can jump on the bus too. again @ 2.5 mil Odom wins again

People in case you don't know (most do), its not like the Knicks have all this cap room and can just sign quality people at will. The Knicks need to sign if they can trade Stat at any and all cost, Stat have some trade value, question is......is there any takers?.....if there is...Stat=ghost!

Chandler, Melo, Lin, Shump, Jeffries, J.R. are keepers IMO. Anything else............do whatever!

HAAAAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAA! Just what the Bricks need--another inconsistemt headcase that doesn't play defense, and disappears on occasion. If Dallas was too far from LA, what's he going to do in Zoo York?
