08:18 AM ET 05.24 | The numbers add up quickly. Thirteen quarterbacks. Thirty-one wide receivers. Thirty-nine defensive ends. And that's just the start of Ole Miss' coast-to-coast football recruiting offer sheet. Coach Hugh Freeze will readily acknowledge that his staff has offered scholarships to a lot of players in the class of 2013. He just doesn't have a clue what that total is. "Heck no," Freeze said. "I haven't even looked at that list." There's 246 (and counting) offers from Ole Miss out to prospective recruits, according to Rivals.com. The vast majority are to "national" recruits -- those beyond a five-hour drive from Oxford -- and of that group most are considered four- and five-star prospects.

His stragegy is "offer EVERYBODY, and see what's left over when the smoke clears".

Not the best strategy IMO, coach, but we'll see what happens. The good news is Ole Lady sure can't get much worse.

They spelled "Saban" wrong!

Kind of like my cousin used to hunt birds. His philosophy was if you throw enough flak (shot) in the air one of the birds will fly into it and you don't have to be a good shot. He probably averaged four boxes of shells per bird.

I still have some eligibility left though my 40 time has slipped to 6-7 seconds.

Reminds me of a story, sort of.

My son, out on his first dove hunt, was standing under a tree, and a dove lit in the tree before he could get a shot off while the bird was flying. He yelled and asked if he could shoot it, and with it being his first hunt, I told him OK.

So he shoots up in the tree, and I'll be damned -- TWO birds fell out. All my buddies in the field laughed their azzzzes off.

Uh, since I'm pretty sure I'm not authorized to invent words, I should point out this is a typo and should be "strategy".

It's much easier to shoot those damn darting doves while they are sitting on high line wires. Helps your percentage rate too.

Doesn't do much good to the high line wires though.

I'm all confused now...if a bird in the hand is worth two in a tree, this really messes things up for me now.....

What happens if they all accept?

Have a seat over at the Ice Haus, I'll pull down a pitcher of brew, and we'll work out the details for ya, how's that?
