Calipari wants 'event' games vs. Duke, UNC

08:18 AM ET 05.25 | This being the age of sending one's own message, John Calipari answered critics of his scheduling practices earlier this week. Calipari announced on his Web site a collection of big-event and neutral-floor games for upcoming seasons that include a resumption of the North Carolina series, a multi-year rivalry with Duke and appearances in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. "When we schedule, I want to create experiences, not just games," Calipari said on CoachCal.com. "The thing about Kentucky basketball is it's passed down from father to son. I want to schedule events that grandfathers and grandsons will be talking about 25 years from now."

Be interesting IF the defections of FSU, Clem, et al happen just how much the ACC gets on the new contract. Bball schools are about to find out the harsh economic reality of college sports.
