09:13 AM ET 05.26 | Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said Friday he is considering testing the free-agent market after this season. "I think (team President) Ted Phillips said when they had the owners meeting they're going to wait until the season is over. See what happens, how I play (before addressing the contract situation)," Urlacher said Friday on WMVP-AM 1000. "It's kind of exciting. I've never been a free agent. So if I can get to free agency we'll see what happens. "I no doubt want to finish my career here. There's no doubt about that. But you bring in free agency and all that you just never know what's going to happen."

I heard about this last night on ESPN. Bruschi was talking about it and "knowing when to call it." It's going to be different for everyone and Urlacher has been one of those guys who holds himself accountable for his level of play. He'll definitely find a home if Chicago is foolish enough to let him go.

The Colts are also looking to move Freeney to LB to fit their new 3-4 scheme. He's getting a bit old to start shifting gears like that.

So what does he bring in return? No more than a fifth rounder. You don;t pay big for guys like him on the last year of a contract.
If they trade him they are short at DB depth wise. I say they keep him, hope someone is dumb enough to give him what he wants in FA and the following year they could get perhaps a fourth rounder in return.

Explanation: The fourth rounder they could get in return would be a compensatory pick in the 2014 draft.
same reason the Giants, among other reasons as in he can play well, is in FA he would most likely bring them a 3rd round pick in 2014 as a compensatory pick in that draft.

Why the interest in this boob? I was under the impression that the reason why Dallas had some many difficulties last year was because of their secondary.

well with the way the Bears are messing with Forte who know if they'll let him go. The Bears have shown times of greatness and idiocy as of late.

I think it's more than that. I think it's how healthy Urlacher is after the season's over. Age is definitely becoming a factor.

Might be done. RB gets hurt and never are the same.

That's what makes Urlacher the type of player he is. He was sincerely disappointed with his performance after his last big contract. He's a stand-up player.

This Packer fan has nothing but respect for this cat. He's a football player's football player whom I wish was on my team. Bears, please, make this mistake....

Jenkins played hurt all last season. He was a quality CB the season prior. He's still young and has a cap friendly contract so he should command some value (3rd or 4th round pick) for the Cowboys if they do decide to trade him.
