UM, which began playing in the ACC in 2004, has been linked in reports ??? along with Florida State and Clemson ??? as possibly having interest in leaving for the Big 12 Conference. Translation: "We are content to become irrelevant to major college football."

Unless this is typical posturing before bolting the conference. Like Mizzou was saying before leaving the Big 12 for the SEC.

Who cares. I am just hoping by now that paul dee has taken his rightful place next to the guy with the eternal pitchfork.

Too much resistance and disagreement in the B12 about taking them. Could happen but there are a couple of schools that don't want them or their baggage.

What'd Dr. Tom say this time FJJ?

God only knows. He's gone from being an arrogant ass (who gets screechy and whiny when thwarted) to being somewhat detached from reality. There may actually be some dementia setting in, though I hope not. He's only fair game for ridicule and scorn while he has all his faculties.

Agree. It's hard to ridicule someone that's lost it. Unfortunately, Dr. Tom's issue may be more similar to what the rest of us old farts suffer. Adapting to changing times. It may be time to turn all this <hit over to the younger folks since they seem to like conference realignment and such.

Adaptability has always been one of my few strengths. I can't adapt to nearly anything that makes sense and isn't slimy. But, this crap makes absolutely no sense to me. It reminds me of a kid at Christmas playing with a new toy and when the next package is opened they are off to the newer one.

Or like a monkey with a shiny object.

I understand that. Outside of the brand built on the past championships UM probably does not offer much right now. Not sure they are a good school to take anymore.

He was quoted as saying, "It would be wrong for the B12 to take teams from the ACC"someone is still butthurt the B12 destroyed in 10 years everything he built up over a career of abusing the B8. freaking hypocrite

Did he say it was wrong for the ACC to take teams from the Big East? Or it was wrong for the B1G, 12PAC and SEC to take teams from the Big 12? If not, it is definitely hypocritical.

Damn good point, I don't blame those schools for not wanting them, they do have too much baggage. IMO the B12 has a pretty good reputation, let's keep it that way!!!

Good point. It seems there are only a handful of schools that DO have very much to offer. The rest are just trying to find a place to land.

Until the stench of Nevin Shapiro is gone... I don't see the B12 being interested.

Miami won't go, they still don't stand a chance of winning a conference title. Haven't even won the ACC division they're in.

This is tiresome coming from FSU fans. If the ACC is so irrelevant, why can't you win it? Do you really think your team would be relevant in the Big 12? Win the ACC a few times, then let's talk.

You're one of those CFB fans who think that the game was invented in about the year 2000.

Get something straight, FNG, VT's "rise" in the ACC is due SOLELY to FSU's descent into mediocrity during the end of Coach Bowden's tenure. And what has mighty VT accomplished? A few ACC crowns? Kudos. We have a truckload of 'em. BTW, even in our "down" years, mighty VT has still only been able to post a 2-2 record against FSU. Color me unimpressed.

FSU has already reached heights that Virginia Tech will NEVER reach, and we're headed back up the mountain again.

If you boys ever want to see what the crystal footballs look like, arrange a trip to Tally, as there will NEVER be one resting in the Athletic Department in Blacksburg. Win a National Title, and THEN let's talk.

Yes it does. But it is the wave of the future, whether the average fan likes it or not.
