09:35 AM ET 05.26 | At age 47, Dominik Hasek is contemplating a return to the NHL, according to a report in the Czech Republic newspaper Daily Sports. Hasek is in North America and wants to return the NHL after a four-season absence, Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada tweeted. "For sure, I know what I want ... even my agent, he knows ... but I'm not going to make any comments," Hasek is reported to have said to the Czech newspaper. Hasek played for Moscow Spartak of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2010-11, posting a 23-19-3 record and a 2.48 goals-against average.

NBCSN spoke to this last night. Said he was interested in Tampa, Detroit and Buffalo.

Elliotte, lay off the buffet table...you are starting to look like Gord Miller.

Dee-troyet needs a real goaltender. Even with a walker Hasek'd be better than what we have now.

And his new haircut reminds me of that Seinfeld episode.

Sorry, Tampa Bay fans! You already have your senior citizen in net. Besides, Hasek has a pair of Wings tattooed on his butt. ;-)

Let the Avs and Habs fight it out over Patrick Roy. As for Bernie Parent, he'd give the Russian Wonder they have in Philly a run for his money!

He'll pull a groin within a week.

Is Mike Vernon still around. Scrappy dude, always liked his play, more than Dom.

He had a lot of fight but, unfortunately for him (and the Flames), he had the Oilers for his neighbors to the North.

Howard has been pretty good for you guys since he came into the league. You really think a 47 year old Hasek could outperform Howard? No way man.

Mike Vernon is a God. When I was a kid, he was my favorite player. I wrote letters to a couple of my favorites. I got the usual mass reply from all the organizations, except for the letter from Vernon. He shipped me a game used autographed stick, autographed picture, poster and hockey card.

Howard is pretty good but .... not good enough. Not for a deep run at Lord Stanley's mug. As for Hasek, he'd just be an inspirational figure, nothing more. He's done. Keep him behind glass somewhere where he can be seen but not heard.

Damn straight, big reason the Wings went all the way.
