08:45 AM ET 05.27 | The great Jim Brown might not see anything outstanding in Trent Richardson, but the Browns office sure did. In fact, the name "Adrian Peterson" came up in the Browns offices when they were evaluating Richardson. The Browns acknowledge Peterson is a little faster, but they think Richardson is better in pass protection, and they believe he is one of the best backs to enter the league in quite awhile. The Browns love his versatility and plan on getting a lot of out of Richardson ASAP.

They also believe in the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny, and a 28 year old rookie QB.

P.S. Hope they're right!

I think I'll go with Jim Brown........If I remember correctly he had a decent career in the NFL.....

Yeah, kind of early in the season to make such proclamations.

I think he looks more like a young Spike Lee.

Adrian Peterson before or after the injury?

May 27, 2012  10:12 AM ET

I hope he's not like AP, he has only played 2 full seasons in 5 years. The Browns are going to need a healthy back who can produce all season.

Didn't they also believe that McCoy was the best QB coming out of college????

The only "they" that liked McCoy was The Big Show!

The rest of us considered him a 3 round project with potential to be a backup.

I think Richardson will be just fine.

If only Trent Richardson were the size of the opponent's defensive linemen.

He will need a good O-line just like another ex Bama RB (Alexander) had at Seattle, with Jones and Hutch!!!!

Boy, this isn't your old Cleveland Browns. The old Browns are in Baltimore showing up for the playoffs year after year.

Yeah that's why they waited until the 3rd round to draft him. Do some research man!

Yeah you're right and the Ravens don't have a bad president of the team like Holmgren!!!!

May 27, 2012  11:18 AM ET

I'd rather be the next "Walter Payton" than "Adrian Peterson."

Brown is still upset he's no longer part of the organization. His comments are more hate filled than accurate.

With all the mistakes the Browns have made since returning in '99 Couch, Brown, Warren it would be nice if TR turns out to be the real deal.
