09:19 AM ET 05.27 | Red Bulls captain Thierry Henry has surpassed Los Angeles Galaxy star David Beckham as the highest-paid player in MLS. Henry is now the league's highest earner with a base salary of $5 million and a guaranteed total compensation of $5.6 million, according to figures released by the MLS Players Union . His New York teammate Rafa Marquez - who has joined Henry in speaking less and less frequently with the media this year - is second at $4.6 million. A trio of Galaxy stars check in next. So, I had to DVR the Scotland game. Watched it yesterday. Good stuff.

A few thoughts:

1. Sweet Hoops. Long overdue. Put some blue numbers on those things though......nobody can read that silver stuff.

2. Good passing. Bradley - who I used to bash incessantly for his passing ability (or lack thereof) - has come a looonnnnng way. Guy is improving in all aspects. Serie A has been very good for him, and with his work ethic - I'm excited to watch him. Germany Jones had his best game in the US shirt. Those two are far above Edu, Beckerman.
Torres can pass as well. He needs to stay in the mix. I like the center of the team. (Of course, it wasn't exactly Germany we were matched up against).

3. T. Boyd. Really. Jozy better watch out. This guy seems more tactically aware and a better first touch than Altidore. Plenty of room for improvement, but good to have some competition up front.

4. Scotland is worse off than we thought. We were good, but Scotland made us look like Brazil out there. (We're not Brazil.)
Those unis were not great either. A collar is one thing, but the oversized 1970's collar has to go.

Please God, let this be true....

"We all know how Cristiano Ronaldo isn???t accustomed to being rejected (and sadly, Irina Shayk does not feature anywhere in this story) or relegated to second place in any circumstances. According to new reports in Portuguese magazine ???Nova Gente???, a confrontation outside the ???Urban Beach??? nightclub in Lisbon last Sunday led to Cristiano???s friends picking up a nasty fight with Portuguese male model Gon??alo Viriato Teixeira (extreme left in photo above). More bizarrely, it ended up with the victim falling into the Tagus river.

Of course, Goncalo is currently the boyfriend of Carolina Fernandes, the beautiful model Ronaldo (above, right) had unsuccessfully tried to chat up at the club. And by that, we mean typical ???Ronaldo game??? style ??? the Real Madrid player sent his brother/friend/uncle to Carolina???s table and showed her a phone message from him, but she remained unimpressed and ignored his advances. Wounded in his pride, Ronaldo then tried to personally approach her but his efforts were futile again. The girl reportedly
'disliked his style', which (according to onlookers) involved the way he held on to her dress.[...]"

The uni's looked spiffy, but whoever came up with the color for the numbers dungoofed badly.

Sasha > Kyle (unless you need a CDM, but we have three others.....)

What's up with the Natties refusing to trade shirts with the Scots? They didn't like the collars either?
