Maple Leafs in market for veteran goalie

10:01 AM ET 05.27 | When the Maple Leafs embark on their annual quest for a better on-ice product, they'll be attempting to solve an age-old problem with a man of a certain age. Acquiring a proven veteran goaltender ranks among the club's biggest off-season priorities. That means there will be internal debates about no end of possibilities, be it a trade for Vancouver's Roberto Luongo, or a free-agent signing of one of the handful of seasoned NHLers expected to be available this summer. There will be other options, to be sure, including a list of free agents who could eat starts while Reimer and Scrivens find their way in the league. Tomas Vokoun is expected to be available come July 1. He'll turn 36 on July 2, but his .917 save percentage as a member of the Washington Capitals ranked 17th in the NHL last season. The free-agent crop is also likely to include Scott Clemmensen (a 34-year-old one-time Leaf), Martin Biron and Alex Auld, to name a few.

Yes it's starting to look like Tampa who wanted badly Schneider are not going to be interested in Luongo.l And the thinking is that teams that are struggling to become playoff teams (ie Leafs, Jackets) are going to be the primary suitors

according to the fact he ranked 17th ,on a team that was defensively conscious, and that's middle of the pack (17 that is) Burke will offer him a multi year deal and cause he's over 35 if he retires the cap hit keeps a coming
