Seahawks' Williams returns to lazy ways

08:07 AM ET 05.28 | When Seattle was auditioning wideouts a few offseasons ago, as speculation grew that he might join the team, there was a knock on Mike Williams. It is no surprise that the production of [Williams] took a dip in 2011 after he had a career year in 2010. Williams' breakout season was the result of dedicating himself to conditioning and preparation for the first time in his career. Last year, sources say he reverted back to some of his old lazy habits. His weight has been an issue, both during the season and in the offseason. And not being in shape contributed to him not staying healthy last year.

Mornin Mick.
Williams is just the typical "received the contract" player. He's the Haynesworth of receivers except Haynesworth didn't even give the Skins a season for that huge contract.

Going to the cemetery where my dad is buried today... the local veterans organizations do a great memorial ceremony every year there.
Taking my grandson for the first time this year. I think he gets it...

May sound odd but I hope you both enjoy that time.
I was about my 2nd year in the Navy and was visiting my grandpa up in Caldwell, NJ. He was dying of emphysema and told me a story about how he and my dad didn't speak for a couple of years after my dad joined the AF. My grandpa brought his family over from Ireland back when my dad was about 8. Anyhow, when my dad was 16 or 17 he joined the AF to "return the favor". As my brothers and I grew up, dad never told us about that, just that we each owed at least one tour in the military to give a little something back. When I was visiting my grandpa, the last time we spoke, he told me he finally understood why my dad did what he did and how proud he was of each of us. He then showed me a dog tag chain with a miraculous medal on it. He said that his brother had worn it during the Battle of the Bulge.
I still haven't shared that with my dad. Don't know how he'd feel about me knowing that about him and his father but I really feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to share that moment with my grandpa. To be able to know that what I may have done helped put in perspective what he and my dad disagreed upon so long ago.

Thanks for sharing... and I hope that someday you can indeed share this with your dad. At the very minimum I hope you can share it with your family. They need to know and understand that this day is far beyond BBQ and putting up a flag.
And... odd as it may sound... my grandson and I had a great time. He heard some wonderful stories and saw how significant this day should be.

In a sport where you're getting hit like a freight train multiple times a game, you'd think players wouldn't need incentive to work out.
