08:14 AM ET 05.28 | Jerry West has moved on, but his current role with the Warriors has him very aware of what the Lakers might be capable of doing in the offseason. This week's edited conversation between Warriors executive board member Jerry West and KNBR's Gary Radnich and Larry Krueger: Radnich: With your old team, the Lakers, being eliminated from the playoffs, do you think they'll have to make major changes around Kobe Bryant in order to compete? West: It all depends. Are they going to have the ability to do it? You have to give something to get something, and their roster ... They have three terrific players, and wanting to trade one of those players is going to be a problem because of the money they make.

Trade or amnesty for Kobe!

Problem solved.

They played pretty well without him before.

That team without Kobe won't make it far in the playoffs if they make it at all. But you gotta start some where. Free up that 30 million because....

The Lakers are done.

The Spurs run the west.

Spurs in 3!

QUOTE(#11):

LOL.You'd like that.

Keep him or not. Doesn't matter to me. Lakers won't win anything with him or without. Not even their division.

Let's face it.

No one but the Lakers would pay a 34 year old, washed up, ball hogging, no defense playing, team killer like Kobe 30 million dollars. Did I leave out anything?

I hope his goal for next year is to get another scoring title :)

Nothing like watching him jack up 3s at the end of a game trying to be the hero when it was his lack of defense on the perimeter that got them down in the first place.

Trade Bynum and Gasol then amnesty Kobe then you're ready for a fresh start. LA fans might not like it but in two or three years they'll certainly appreciate it. As the Lakers presently stand....its over for them championship wise.
