Gill played six games after fracturing tibia

08:31 AM ET 05.28 | Seems veteran Hal Gill deserves some credit for his toughness. I remember after [Gill] blocked a Sheldon Sourary slap shot off his leg in Nashville's second-to-last game of the regular season -- mostly because I asked him about it after the game. "You ever block a shot?" he asked sarcastically. "It hurts." We may know how badly. Montreal Gazette columnist Dave Stubbs tweeted that he recently had lunch with Gill and that Gill said he fractured his tibia. This required a plate and screws being inserted into the leg. Gill missed all five games of Nashville's series with Detroit. Gill is slated to be an unrestricted free agent if he and the Predators don't come to terms before July 1.

Nice.

But it'd be funnier if he broke his humerus.

Amazingly enough, playing with a broken leg did not hamper his foot speed at all.

"Seems veteran Hal Gill deserves some credit for his toughness....."

Stupid comment! Did anybody ever question Hal Gill's toughness?

Maybe that's why he's so tough to move. He's frozen to the ice.

Judges, "We'll accept the answer."

I thought Gill might be the icing on a strong Predators' defensive cake.

I love it when I read stories like this and remember the hockey haters who say "It's just figure skating" Would love to see any of them play ANY sport with this injury.
