08:11 AM ET 05.29 | Philadelphia appears to be nearing a rut-roh moment in the form of Roy Halladay's shoulder soreness, something that has many wondering about a run at Roy Oswalt. If the Phillies do decide that adding Oswalt is more important than staying below Major League Baseball's $178 million luxury tax threshold, they'll have plenty of competition for his services. Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reported Monday night that the NL-leading Los Angeles Dodgers have made an offer to Oswalt. Brown tweeted that the Rangers remain Oswalt's preferred team, as was previously reported by the Boston Globe. Oswalt is also reportedly prioritizing the Cardinals above other teams for their close proximity to his Mississippi home.

Highest bidder that he thinks can get him a ring

This is just a waiting game right now. Teams are waiting for him to drop his demands to fit their needs and he's waiting for teams to have a real need for him and neither is happening fast.

Prayin - remember when I told you that the Nationals would be giving you fits - and you laughed. Now I wish you had Oswalt back to avert another bridge year. Your pitchers aren't getting any younger so the Phillies goose is cooked this season. Halladay was overworked. So is CC. Chuby Checker is the next oldie to go.

Not that I'm a Phillies or Yankees fan...but how are Halladay and Sabathia overworked?...they would be getting the ball every fifth day no matter who they would be playing for.....and I believe that's why they're paid ton of money....

Let's Go Mets!!

Oswalt won't help any team, by the time he's ready to pitch, his back will go out again, and they'll have wasted ten mil on a has been there is a reason he hasn't pitched all year

Too bad he insists on starting, he'd be a lockdown closer , game over.

Dodgers would be perfect for him. Nice spacious ballpark to keep his numbers down, great hitting team to jack up those wins, NL team ... perfect.
