Gaborik more injured than anyone knew

08:20 AM ET 05.29 | Perhaps there is an explanation for Marian Gaborik flying a bit too low under the radar during the playoffs. Amid speculation that the Slovakian right winger, who scored 41 goals in his third season with the Rangers, injured his shoulder early in the postseason, Gaborik was asked Monday if he needs any medical treatment or procedures this summer. "I don't want to talk about it," he said. "I'll know in a few days." Gaborik scored one goal in the six-game Devils series and appeared tentative at times along the boards. Coach John Tortorella didn't mention Gaborik when asked if his top forwards provided enough against the Devils. "I think they tried -- you need to give Jersey some credit, also."

I hope he didn't hurt himself blocking a shot or HITTING someone into the boards? I know Torts would be happy, but they lost.

Unless that one guy is your teams leading scorer who then happens to pull a disappearing act in the playoffs.

The only way Gaborik hurts his shoulder is by carrying his wallet in his hand wherever he goes.

I believe there was 11 other forwards.......After Callahan and Richards the other 9 were also invisible....

So we still don't know how bad he was hurt, but . . . . .

. . . . . we know it wasn't nearly as bad as his feelings were after Tortarella benched him.

Happens to a lot Europeans in the playoffs especially the Russians..once they realize guys keep running at you even after you knock them on their asses...and the're gonna have take the punishment shift after shift ...they long for that big rink in Europe with lots of room.....

True, but all the attention will still be directed towards Gaborik.
