Holland wants end-of-game penalties punished

08:24 AM ET 05.30 | Ken Holland will take to New York a rules change idea to discuss with his fellow GMs: During the playoffs, carry over penalty time assessed as time expires and into the next game. It's an interesting concept. It would, for example, have meant that the Red Wings would have started Game 2 of their first-round series with Nashville with Predators captain Shea Weber serving a two-minute roughing penalty for slamming Henrik Zetterberg's head into the glass as Game 1 ended. In fact, they would have had a two-man power play, as Martin Erat was called for holding at 19:37. "It's something I've talked about with league people and other GMs over time," Holland said Tuesday.

Agree. A game has to end sometime.

It's not "an interesting concept", unless if ny interesting, you mean idiotic.
Maybe baseball can put the guys back on base that were there when the inning ended too...

Also agree, dumb idea. If the action was egregious, the League has suspensions and fines. Otherwise, the game is ovah, time to move on.

Worry about your team Ken, not stupid things like this.

Maybe Holland has been having lunch with Mario Manifique and the Lemeux's whiny personality is rubbing off on him. That aught to kick things up a notch. BAM!

I thought Mario was still rubbing off on PM (tweak and tweak again)

LMAO. I always had (and still do of course) a lot of respect for Holland as one of the best, if not the best, execs in the NHL. But this sounds like something he came up with after a night of no sleep, lotta drinking, or both.

Perhaps a full 5 minute post-game interview with Pierre?

I geuss if the Wings had a strongman this wouldn't come up. Having Bertuzzi to take care of business ain't cutting it.
