08:07 AM ET 05.31 | The saga of Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets added another chapter Wednesday when Williams took to Twitter. Williams, condescending as always, denied and mocked a Yahoo! report that said he'd re-sign with the Nets only if the team acquires Dwight Howard. Three hours later, the league conducted its draft lottery, where the Nets lost their first-round pick because it did not fall in the top three. "I would love to know who (the Yahoo! reporter's) source is bc he knows more about what I'm thinking then I do maybe they can help me decide?" A team source also denied the report, saying the Nets were not aware that Williams has made Howard a prerequisite for re-signing.

LA Or Bust, Bro?

May 31, 2012  10:20 AM ET

Can some one explain to me how the Nets lose their 1st round draft pick since they didnt get the top 3 in the lottery?

May 31, 2012  11:51 AM ET

DWill will walk and should, if he has any desire to win. Nets aren't going anywhere with or without Howard.

I think Howard's best days are over. NO ONE comes back 100% after a back surgery, and his FT skills or shooting skills will never improve as his athleticism declines from now on.

A HUGE buyer beware on Howard.

Not sure how dwil can say with a straight face that he is undecidedHe KNOWS what he is doing.....he is just choosing to keep it to himselfWhich is his right....but don't say you're still not sure

I sincerely believe he is not sure cos none of his options are sure bets to win a championship. You need to remember these kids arent' brought up to earn something - it has to be given to them. That's why Lebron, Bosh and Wade got together to win it the easy way. And they got the whole league office behind them.

The NBA is fixed.

Wade hits Rondo on the face... no call. Then he sticks out his leg into Garnet's knee to create space. He gets the basket and a call.

It's sickening. It's not even worth watching the NBA... F stern, Lebron and all perpertuators of crime. Celts work their tail off - they don't deserve this bias officiating!

If I was the Boston Celts.. I'd walk off game 3 to demand fair officiating. They need to do something to show they aren't stupid or blind to the crime of the league office.

Stern wants to create a super team fans can identify with like Jordan did with the Bull so he can grow the game and make more money. It's not working David!!!!!!!!!!!! F you.

If Garnet, Pierce and Ray decide to boycot the game I'm all for it. It's way overdue with the criminal officiating that's going Miami's way. Somebody please send this to the Celts locker room.

No players would EVER do that because, unlike fans, they realize that they - the people playing the game - are the truly deciding the outcomes of games. It's such a copout for fans to always say the NBA is rigged. If your team doesn't win, it's because they weren't good enough that night. Bottom line.

Sorry, but this too is BS. After a year to 'think about it,' if Williams doesn't know what he wants to do, he's not as smart as he's been given credit for. Smart money says he's out. If in fact it were the case, how difficult would it be to say I'd like to remain with this franchise, but..... Either he's waiting for Dwight, or he's gone.

May 31, 2012  02:28 PM ET

Players want to get paid and they want to win also. He is waiting for the best option/team that comes up and then he will decide from there. I think it comes back to LA, Dallas and NJ. All the right trades have to happen but I think that is where he would play depending on what level of help he gets.

You either did not watch the game or know the game well enough to know what's fair and what's robbery!

Whether they do or not it doesn't matter. So many people have no critical thinking skills for themselves and gobble up everything they read in the media as fact. The media just has to say it and mindless drones will repeat it as fact. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic. Some people still think there are WMD in Iraq because they were told it was so.

People read the news to get the news not to be lied to. If they wanted rumors of gossip they would read editorials or TMZ. You saying audience needs to be constructive in what they read well reporters need to be ethical and report the facts. Its time for reporters to be held accountable. Otherwise, they can just wake up, blurt out crap and sell to us and get paid for it. News seekers don't intend to waste their time or get duped. When will industries be held accountable? Blame the reader? Child please.

The calls were missed, but they are PAYED to play the game of basketball. If any of us don't agree with a call at our jobs, we don't stop working and boycott. To us it is a game, for the players it is their job and they are payed to play, not boycott.
I agree both those calls or non calls affected the game, but they are professionals and they will show up to play in game 3 regardless.

Yahoo sports is not a reliable source for anything. They're just whistle blowers and sports gossip.

When you put blood, sweat and tears into your work to accomplish something I don't think y'd call it a game. Anyone's that's had to work hard to achieve can relate to what I mean...
