Whisenhunt can't bring himself to anoint Kolb

08:01 AM ET 06.01 | Ken Whisenhunt, who through the first two weeks of OTAs had QBs Kevin Kolb and John Skelton splitting reps, was asked Thursday about balancing fair competition with the fact the team gave up so much for Kolb. "I don't think about that when you're on the field," he said. "I don't look at a player and think what's he's making or what you did to get him here. I look at them based on what kind of plays they're making. "I obviously know how much we invested in Kevin. I want Kevin to be successful. I want him to be our quarterback, but I'm not going to ignore the fact that John Skelton worked pretty hard and did a good job in there when he was playing, too. He's earned the right to compete for that spot."

At least he seems to understand fair competition. He'd never succeef in Cleveland with a statement like that.

Neither could the eagles.

John Skelton = Cowboys killer

Kopb was really good in a very weak collegiate division. His skills against powerhouses such as UT El Paso and Eastern Carolina simply will not transfer in the big boys league.

The media did that for them.

Competition is good but Cardinal QB's aren't.

Kolb's contract is very back-weighted. He only gets $1 miillion in salary this year. (Yes, ONE million.) Bonuses bring that up a lot, including (according to one source) a $7 million roster bonus due really soon, like maybe today. Still, he's real cheap as NFL quarterbacks go. It's the out years of his contract, 2014-2016, that are very expensive.

Money wise, they can afford to keep him, but that's only if winning isn't high on their list of priorities.

What is he, a priest?

Rex Ryan would gladly anoint his feet.

Tricks is right, considering what this character probably turns every night on the street corner.

You know zhnegshi? Can you get me some of the "Oakey" sunglasses? Thanks, man.

Then release him.

For laughs, I Googled "zhnegshi." The results were in Chinese characters, and when I tried to do "Translate this page" the "Dangerous Forbidden Page" warning came up on my computer.

Like the street corner, you'll catch a virus you don't want if you go there.

Because of the shortened season I would give him one more preseason chance, by God he just can't be that bad.....can he??

Sure he can. He never said he was star material, his resume of 7 tds and 11 ints never said he was star material, other players never said he was much, it was only Andy Reid who said it and only the Cards were dumb enough to buy in to it. they bed against themselves.

Andy Reid could sell a used car to a used car salesman.
