08:07 AM ET 06.01 | The Clippers are on the verge of becoming victims of their own success, as GM Neil Olshey is reportedly among the finalists in Portland. [All] indications seem to be that the Clippers will simply let him go if the Blazers decide to offer him the job as there have been no new contract discussions between the Clippers and Olshey, according to sources close to the situation. Olshey, who finished third in this year's Executive of the Year balloting, essentially has been an at-will employee since last fall when his contract expired. ... Clippers owner Donald Sterling is a little gun shy about committing a long-term contract to anyone these days. Plus, he simply prefers it that way.

Sterling should just save his pennies like Jerry Jones and become the GM himself.

This is how it works in Clipperland...just when it looks like they are going in the right direction Scrooge decides to be cheap again. Wait for the Griffin/Paul contract talks to start up he will show his true stinginess.

The more things change the more they stay the same. Same owner. Same Clippers. Letting talent go away.
