O's considering Tejada call-up?

08:12 AM ET 06.01 | Perhaps it's time for a blast from the past in Baltimore. Don't know about you, but the prospect of the Orioles bringing up a Triple-A outfielder to replace Nick Markakis and trying to get through the next couple of weeks (at least) with a very thin offensive attack just isn't very palatable. The O's need a spark, and they need to find a way to boost their performance with runners in scoring position, so I think they need to think outside the box here. Miguel Tejada has been swinging a hot bat at Triple-A Norfolk and he's a high-energy guy who can hold down the fort at third base. Why not call him up to play there, keep Mark Reynolds at first and throw Chris Davis into the outfield?

You can probably throw a couple of more logs on that fire.

Cut off his leg and count the rings.

I can't understand why they would call up a 38 year old player in the first place. I imagine the younger players in their system are talking to each other and saying what to we have to do to make the big stage. Maybe also they can make a trade with the Jays and get Vald back to.

.....davis needs to play a corner with his glove....

Cannot believe the O's still have Tejada. Send him home, guys. He's done.

Isn't this guy older than Moyer?

No, he just plays like it, even with his "vitamin b" shots or whatever the hell he was getting injected in his arse back when he was relevant.

Agreed...

And Big Kudo's to Miguel... Chillin' in the Minors...

Alot of guys would have let their Ego get in the way - but Miguel must still like to play...

Or he invested very badly and still needs the paycheck.

He hasn't been on the team for 2 years; they just signed him a month ago.

I agree, get rid of him, they don't need any distractions like that.

tejada should be use it as a utility player role,, nothing less nothing more,,,

Sounds like he has found a reliable supplier of 'roids in Norfolk.

i was wondering what happened to this guy.

June 2, 2012  12:45 AM ET

we need something, anything, those moves sound good to me right now, but it's late and we're crashing, desperate times call for desperate measures, we already have enough young minors up, why not grandpa tejada, at least he'll get some laughs and his smile may be contagious, attitude is important and presently it's pretty glum. It's true, no one really knows how old he is or how much gas is in the tank, but the teams on empty presently..."why nOt?", what have we to lose?

Why not bring he and moyer up together. They can get paid less due to the senior discount
