Did Missouri land the best transfer class in history?

08:19 AM ET 06.01 | In the eyes of many, Missouri's brilliant regular season ended too soon at the NCAA Tournament, and the Tigers lost five key players after the season, but Frank Haith has reloaded quickly. Thanks to the return of an injured Laurence Bowers (arguably Missouri's best player in 2010-11), and the addition of four key transfers Oregon's Jabari Brown, Auburn's Earnest Ross, Pepperdine's Keion Bell, and Connecticut's Alex Oriakhi, Missouri has a chance to compete for the SEC title in its first year in the league. In fact, with such an impressive transfer group debuting this season, it is worth asking if this might be the best transfer class ever.

Yes we will be in contention for a championship next year regardless of the haters, our style plus the influx of new talent will make us a tough out for ANY school on the country. Mark my words.

Not yet, but their transfer Alex Oriakhi was a very important piece to the UCONN team that won the title. Some called him the MVP of that team. Now the Tigers get the big man they've lacked. The article didn't mention Dennis Dixon, who's a good ball handler, 3 point shooter, and assist man that returns to the Tigers. I'm telling you, this team is pretty loaded and should go a lot farther than they did last season. The Kentucky - Missouri basketball rivalry could be born this year. It'll be fun to watch.

The league also voted Friday to keep its current football scheduling format known as 6-1-1, a move that will maintain longstanding cross-division rivalries like Alabama-Tennessee and Auburn-Georgia on an annual basis. LSU and South Carolina opposed keeping the designated rivals, arguing that a more equitable conference slate would be to rotate non-division opponents on a regular basis.
Guess Bama and Nick Saban got their wish as they cried enough to keep that great division rivalry with Tennessee. Why not just give them the SEC Championship as they don't have to earn it on the field. South Carolina and LSU wanted changes SO South Carolina got to change theirs yet they left LSU the sane. See some prejudice voting here. Why would the coaches, etc. not want Bama to play a more difficult schedule. Way to go, people, you are going to lose also in this deal.
Keep in mind there has been an LSU/Texas A&M rivalry for years so why not make that the new one for LSU.

Betcha the Birmingham News is breathing a sigh of relief as BAMA keeps their fluff schedule. They dared to say LSU was ducking UF, well it was not ducking it was wanting to get a more level playing field in the regular season. Betcha BAMA did not step up and say "If LSU doesn't want Florida on a regular basis, we great men at BAMA will take them on yearly" Hell will freeze over before that happens.
This is not a personal attack just a statement of fact. If BAMA did step up to the plate then accept my apology. Doubt that will be necessary.

Is it just me, or is college BB student transferring beginning to look more and more like Free Agency in professional sports? Another indicator that big revenue college sports are slipping into a professional sports way of life, except the kids don't get paid as much?
