10:09 AM ET 06.02 | The always introspective Brian Dawkins has had some interesting things to say following his retirement. During a wide-ranging interview on NFL.com's "Cover 2" podcast, he talked about the number of hits he took in his career, Terrell Owens and his former coach Andy Reid. Dawkins was asked whether Reid deserves to be on the hot seat. "Yes, here's the thing," Dawkins said. "When you go out and you get some of the pieces that they got. That's telling the fan base something. Even coming into this year ... some of the things they're doing this offseason, that's telling the fan base something. You then have to show ... what are you as a coach."

Release Brian!

Dawkins could very well be right. If not for the inability to get things done with all the new free agents, but also because I believe there is a shelf-life of coaches with the same team. At a certain point, I think they need to go in a different direction.

In other words... they ain't winning with Vick as their QB and that's Reid's fault.

I agree with Dawkins.

"Dawkins: Reid should be on Eagles hot seat"

I think that's the only seat Dave's had in Philadelphia the last few years.

Andy has probably peaked as a coach and it's time for somebody else. How about Bill Cowher?

Andy Reid and Tony Romo are in the same boat. It's time to get it done or you'll be looking for a new place of employment real soon.

It is interesting QBs have come and gone, WRs have come and gone O and D line men have come and gone. The results are very simular year after year, what seems to remained constant hmmmmmmmm results and head coach. Yea it must be Vick's fault

here's the thing, living in Philly, every January the same headline "Reid's job in trouble?" and every August it's "Reid sees bright future for birds". You can't have both and if every year the same debate rises, that should tell you something. They are a loaded team with crap chemistry. That's on the coach, period.

Brian, go see a doctor, tell him your head hurts!!!

June 2, 2012  03:31 PM ET

it's a mystery how this guy still has this job, his time, which was a very good time, has come and gone. It's time for fresh blood with a new outlook and prospective to take this team on

Shut up...shuttin up!

Sounds like sour grapes to me. Dawkins does indeed have a dog in this hunt since Reid and company we're the ones who sent him packing to Denver.

Might just be both: sour grapes and an accurate statement.

Isn't the head coach always in the hot seat until somebody dumps Gatorade on him?

June 2, 2012  09:01 PM ET

it would be funny to see that fat **** frying on a hot seat...

That would be one hell of of a grease fire if he ignited.

You only fire a coach if there is someone better to replace them, if you can name someone better to coach this team then I will agree with you.
