09:07 AM ET 06.03 | The Suns have started planning for life after Steve Nash if their two-time MVP opts to come to New York or heads to Toronto when he becomes a free agent on July 1. Brooklyn fans ??? it???s strange to write that ??? won???t like it, but the Suns are going to go all out for Deron Williams. The Suns??? first choice is to bring Nash back and have the greatest player in franchise history play his final game in Phoenix. They???re hopeful that a two-year, $20 million deal does the trick, and if they add a third season that would probably cinch it since it would take Nash through his 41st birthday. But there has been enough buzz about Nash leaving the Suns, after he played his eighth season in Phoenix, that Phoenix has come up with a contingency plan for his exit. Meanwhile, the Mavericks remains the team the Nets have to fear more than any other when it comes to losing Williams. He???s been at the top of their free-agent wish list since before they won the title last June and owner Mark Cuban will ???pull out all stops??? to bring Williams home, according to a team source.

Williams will sign with Dallas. Mark Cuban will reel him in.

If it's all about the money, any team will do. Then again he could load his wallet in NJ, so it must be more than the paycheck! That said, Phoenix and Dallas would be no more than money since they won't be winning titles.

Can we borrow Carlisle for 2 games please?

We just need a coach that knows how to take a team out of their first option.

The way these playoffs are going. It looks like my Lakers lost in the playoffs to the eventual NBA Champions! That's somewhat consolation and validation since no one other team beat them either!

The Thunder just turned this series to their favor and won't give it back. For the Heat to not sweep the C's is proof they won't beat the Thunder!

Nothing worse than losing to a loser!

What kind of sense does that make? Every team will have eventually lost to the NBA Champions. Hence the term Champion.

Every team that isn't the Champ is a loser. Especially the Lakers.

You don't need Carlisle.

Spoelstra's doing a good job with your team!

What are you talking about? Spo doesn't coach the Spurs, Pop tries to. Stop saying silly stuff.
Don't you watch the NBA?

You should know the coaches by now.

Come home Steve

If you sign with the Suns Deron remember this. The Suns owner Robert Sarver is a penny pincher. He will sell draft picks. won't sign good free agents, and lets players go for nothing to save a buck. The Suns will never win with Sarver as the owner.

Go to Dallas where Cuban will spend money to make a winner. Or stay with the Nets where Prokhorov wants to spend the money to make a winner.
