09:21 AM ET 06.03 | Acting with deliberate speed in the wake of the news 41-goal scorer Marian Gaborik will require right shoulder surgery that could sideline the sniper into December of next season, Rangers general manager Glen Sather has been in touch with Predators GM David Poile regarding impending Group II free agent winger Alexander Radulov, The Post has learned. The degree to which these discussions between Sather and Poile have advanced is unknown, but The Post has learned this is more than the GM "kicking the tires." The Blueshirts, of course, would have to be given a window in which to conduct contract negotiations with Radulov before agreeing to trade for his rights. It is unlikely Poile will play hardball, given the alternative is losing him for nothing to the KHL.

Does the extra cost of his babysitter count against the cap?

I don't think I'd touch him with a ten foot Pollock. I don't think a flighty Russian who works when the mood is upon him will help any team.

If they had of not let him play this season he would have had to play a full season next year to get to UFA status was not a smart business move by Poile I'd of made him sit till next season then dealt him before X-mas

HOW ABOUT THEM KINGS???????????

but at the same time we have no idea what was discussed behind closed doors. Its easy to make a call with the benefit of hindsight.

LMAO!

God bless the offseason.

I would have said they were on thin ice, twice NJ had a way to win, both games, but Kings pulled the rabbit out of the hat. That's all that counts.

The guy left cause he was pissed they wouldn't renegotiate and when he was now old enough to become a UFA he shows up on the doorstep it's not the benefit of hindsight it's having the foresight to have seen this scenario coming and telling him to wait till the start of the season

He'll fit in well on the Rangers 'soft' line alongside Gaborik.

Kings > Devils

Me thinks that game last night was the Stanley Cup. When you throw everything you have at your opponent like the Devils did last night and still come up short, what else can you do?

When both teams are playing their best hockey, the difference in the outcome (as thin as it may be), will always favor the team with more talent. The Kings have a little more talent than the Devils. And .... they're up 2-0 because of it.
