Dallas targeting Pacers' Hibbert

08:15 AM ET 06.04 | Dallas' big man backup plan after Dwight Howard may be Pacers center Roy Hibbert. Hibbert is a restricted free agent and according to DallasBasketball.com, the Mavs are willing to place a bid on the 7-footer. But the question is just how much are the Mavs are willing to spend. Indiana will likely match a $12-13 million offer so if the Mavs really want Hibbert, they must be willing to cough up some dough and not just make a modest offer. Dallas will certainly have an even tougher time affording the Georgetown product if top target Deron Williams does choose to come back home. ... [The Mavs] have made it clear they want to bring in someone who can be a presence in the post.

Oh good.
The second coming of Erica.
If Cuban brings this heartless piece of crap in then Dirk should ask to be traded.

And as the article states......if D.Will deos 'go home', that "whatever" Dallas would be able to offer won't be very much!
The only way the Pacers give up Hibbert is if someone offers him CRAZY money.......which I don't see happening.

You're a moron. Hibbert is all class and bled for the team this season. He's gotten more mature and better at his game every year, and if you don't know that you haven't even watched him play.

This thread doesn't even warrant discussion. The key word in the whole thread is restricted. The Pacers would have to be out of their mind not to match anyone's offer.

Hibbert is a blossoming big man and will be a consistent All-Star if he keeps progressing....Dallas can try, but Indiana is not letting him go anywhere...

All Dallas is doing is wasting time and upping Hibbert's value. Indy has plenty of cap room and will match any offer. He will probably end up getting 13-14Mil from Indy

I tend to agree.......but by CRAZEY money, I'm referring to a 'max' contract. BUT.....a max offer fron Indy would be higher than a max contract from anyone else......so the Pacers can always offer more.
But the question is......will anyone offer Hibbert $13+ million? And do the Pacers think he's worth that (or more)?
IMHO, Hibbert shouldn't play out his contract......and see after next season (his 5th) what the Pacers are willing to offer.

I don't think he's a difference maker enough to warrant that kinda investment from another team. He has potential to be a defensive force but his poor showing against Miami with Bosh out makes me think he's peaked already like Eddy Curry!

LMFAO!!!!!!!
OK.....so you're saying that after his 4th (and most productive) season......he's already pecked.....based on 5 "poor" games.....where he averaged 11+ points, 11+ rebounds, 3 blocks and 46% shooting?
Bare in mind that Indy never ran plays for him.....
Bare in mind that his playoff stats were pretty much the same as his regular season stats against the Heat.....
Bosh being there or not made no difference in his performance. Bottom line, the Pacers didn't even try to exploit Hibbert, all season long, against the Heat.
And you blame Hibbert for this?
C'MON!!!!
