Injury could cost Doc $20M

Sorry Doc. Love ya, but that is the reason they give options in contracts (or should) in multi year deals to aging veterans.

Maybe all of us who give their opinions on these articles can take up a donation for his lose.

It's a loss not a lose.

So instead of getting the option from the Phillies, he will a free agent, and some other team will give him the $20M. As long as he's healthy and still going strong, he won't lose anything.

Hey it's not like Philly proposed impossible marks for Doc to hit. It looks reasonable given Doc's stature and past performance and it also gave some protection to the team. Doc must have thought it was reasonable as well because he signed on the dotted line.

If he plays the way he did before the injury the $20M will be there in 2014, even if its with another team...

We're supposed to feel bad for a guy making $60mil guaranteed for 3 years work..with four months vacation every year....cry me a river.....

I think you spelled "I" incorrectly.

If he's genuinely been hurt since March, which seems possible considering how he's pitched, I'm more upset about the fact that he threw hurt for 3 months than I am that he'll miss 2.
