Was thinking the same thing even for the rare ones there isn't usually a whole lot left when you start pushing 40

and let's face it, at his peak, this guy wasn't exactly brodeur (see Nard....I've never doubted the guy's credentials)

I don't understand what Timmy is thinking either. At this stage I would think he could just play a season or two and then retire or just retire now. But a one year sabbatical makes no sense.

thomas is nuts if he thinks he is going to make the olympic roster in 2014 pulling this. He is going to have to showcase himself against a half dozen YOUNGER goalies, and it won't be in a bruins sweater. Very selfish and arrogant act that is putting a team that gave him a shot in a big hole. But at least he can go to church and IHOP with his family and friends now every sunday while pocketing that 3 million while doing nothing.

And he continues to be a "Team Player".
