08:03 AM ET 06.05 | A potentially ugly situation was officially diffused Monday as Osi Umenyiora, after signing what is being referred to as a "substandard" deal, reported for OTAs. [Umenyiora] said he came to realize that with Justin Tuck's contract set to expire after the 2013 season and Jason Pierre-Paul's deal up after the 2014 season, the Giants couldn't reserve that kind of money (and salary cap space) for him. "If I was them I'd do the same thing," Umenyiora said. "Obviously you have Tuck who is the face of the franchise, and then you have JPP who's a young phenom. You know, obviously I'm still a very good football player but you can't pay all of us. You can't pay us all that kind of money. There's just no way you can do that."
