Injury that should really concern Eagles fans

08:08 AM ET 06.05 | While there are obvious fears that Michael Vick or LeSean McCoy could be lost to injury, a more immediate concern is already staring Philly in the face. If DeSean Jackson's right knee buckled at the beach, or if Trent Cole dislocated his shoulder falling out of a tree stand, or if those Pamplonan bulls outrun Jason Babin, the Bleeding Green might slit their wrists. There should be at least as much anxiety surrounding the absence of Jason Peters. Peters twice ruptured his right Achilles' tendon this offseason. He will be lost for 2012. This loss should seriously temper expectations of the Eagles. ... In 2011, Peters was the best player on the team. Not Vick, nor McCoy.

A concern to Iggles fans is a relief to Giants, Redskins and Cowboys fans...

I heard Andy Reid tweaked his knee reaching for a donut.

But it was a great donut, and he'd do it again, no regrets.

No team is without a serious concern somewhere. And some have too many to list.

" Peters twice ruptured his right Achilles' tendon this offseason."

Must have been a hell of an effort.

Agreed. Also, we're not even to training camp yet so there's time to work the line and there are still some decent FAs out there to help shore things up.

Tell us how you really feel. I'm not getting a clear message from your post.

The real question is are they going to pay him? he hurt himself working out on his own. TBA.

I gather, he doesn't think much of Andy Reid nor Philly.

Working out on his own is one thing. Motorcycle riding and skiing are considered "dangerous" activities, but just working out? I would hope not.

This is where the NFL gets really cut throat. The pressure is on the players to not get out of shape during the offseason, but they don't get paid to stay in shape during the offseason. Usually some sort of deal gets worked out, but the team is not obligated to pay Peters.

"This loss should seriously temper expectations of the Eagles."

Shouldn't the Eagles have had tempered expectations anyway? Just because they are the *Eagles*?

June 5, 2012  09:39 AM ET

They should have done "Hard Knocks"

Ouch, I think you blew out my achilles with such slanderous talk.
