Grizzlies ready to shop Rudy Gay

08:09 AM ET 06.05 | By now, perhaps Rudy Gay is used to seeing his name in the offseason trade speculation headlines. [Last offseason, while] the Grizzlies gauged interest in the small forward, they never seriously considered trading him. The organization wanted to see just how effective the team could be with Gay back in the lineup. Now, after a disappointing first-round exit to the Los Angeles Clippers in this year's postseason, the likelihood of a trade involving Gay is much higher. League sources expect Memphis to shop Gay, who is owed $53,666,790 over the next three years. Gay is no longer considered untouchable, and he could be on the move in the next few months if the right offer comes along.

Wish that price tag wasn't so big... he'd look good in Dallas.

Rudy is a good player/ superstar but he has so much potential to be a great player. But the guy has horrible ball handling he can't dribble but some heat on him a he resorts to passing or shooting which in some cases lead to turnovers.

Where's the OKC freakin' thread!

Would be a good move for both teams. Pairing Iggy with Tony Allen would probably make the Grizz the best perimeter defending team in the league and on the offensive side, it would be Z-Bo's team without a doubt. Philly would benefit greatly from Gay's shooting/scoring ability.

You should be trying to get rid of Amare. Not Melo.

What happened to the Grizzlies building around Rudy? They should keep him and build around him and Gasol.
