Bochy questions Sandoval's ability to play 3B

08:17 AM ET 06.05 | Pablo Sandoval continued his rehab assignment Monday night for Class A San Jose, and it seems he should make himself at home in the minors. Giants management was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with Sandoval's condition and dedication, even before the All-Star third baseman was questioned by police in relation to a possible sexual assault that allegedly took place Friday morning in Santa Cruz. ... Bochy acknowledged that he isn't sure that Sandoval is in condition to return to third base, where Joaquin Arias has set a defensive standard that will be difficult to match. "He's been told we have enough first basemen," said Bochy, asked about whether a position change might be in the works for the rotund Panda.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. He's in just as good a shape as I am. Oh, could someone please pass the fried chicken and beer.

It is a good wake up call for him. You can't take things for granted because you have had success in the past.

Reporting Sandoval to be over weight and out of shape is like reporting that the sun rose in the east.

This guy has the potential to be a great player. He also has the potential to be the first 500 pounder in MLB. C'mon, Panda. Get your act together.

Arias better set a defensive standard, because his offense is non-existent. Giants need a bat badly.

Pablo has the most power on the team and only Posey and Melky hit similar to him in terms of average. "We have enough first basemen" - yeah Pill hitting .200 with 3Hr, Belt hitting .230 with 0 HRs and Huff hitting .180 with 1 HR. Playing only half the season Pablo has more HR then all 3 of them combined and was hitting over .300. If he isnt fit enough to play 3B then put him at 1B. Youd have to be a complete moron to keep him in the minors instead of having his bat at 1B with that crap offense.

The guy is hard to figure. He has so much talent. He will be a free agent in 2015. Who knows what kind of numbers he would be putting up if he played in top condition? He could well be looking at a $100M+ contract.
Yet he doesn't put the work in. I mean it is one thing to be 10-15 pounds overweight, which shows a lack of professional dedication. But when you are 30-40 pounds overweight, you must not care at all. Not just about yourself, but your team too.
