08:25 AM ET 06.05 | With Tim Thomas and Tomas Vokoun off the board from an acquisition standpoint in 2012-2013, how might that change the market for goaltending this offseason? Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets' Curtis Sanford has agreed to play in Russia next season in the KHL. In a roundabout way, those moves may improve the Sharks' chances of landing Columbus captain Rick Nash, something they reportedly did around last February's trade deadline. The Blue Jackets have already made it known that they are looking for a different look in goal next season from starter Steve Mason, who was dreadful, as Columbus posted the worst record in the NHL. ... As the goaltending pool dwindles, Howson's options become fewer and fewer.

WIshful thinking but I'd love the Isles to trade one of their goalie prospects and their #4 pick for Nash.

was starting to suffer CBJ with drawl (nash Rash?) thank goodness with a team on the cusp of its first ever Stanley Cup, (and all the ancillary story lines with it) they could squeeze this in...oh, would that they could get a Selanne story soon....

Instead of the Selanne story, they went with a "Wings are rebuilding" story. Like I'm supposed to feel bad about Detriot's decline?!!?

as an Islander fan? How about some empathy? (tweak)

I dont care just keep Sather from getting in these Nash, Semin or Radulov sweepstakes.

Bring Bobby Ryan back to the East Coast and send MDZ and Dubinsky back in return.

You'll get none from me. Been in the cellar too long to care about teams that have had 100 pt seasons and won cups. I've gotten so jaded to the point that I want everyone to fail as the Isles fail.

I was kind of surprised to see the Pens pick up Vokoun from the Caps. Johnson didn't do that well last year and my man Thiessen let me down when he was called up, but I expected them to pick up a career back up goalie to fill in. 2 years, $2million a year. Sounds like Shero is counting on a big jump in the cap.

Oh don't worry. When they close up the bury guys in the AHL loophole in the CBA Sather won't have the money to sign anyone once he has to deal with his Redden blunder.

Sounds to me like Shero was as appalled at Fleury in net in the first round as i was

Yes they can Roamer. Last August in Maui , my better half and i saw a local catch a 3 lb hammerhead in less then a foot of water ;-) Way cool...........or so i thought until it resulted in my better half refusing to go in the water for the remainder of the trip.

They only wish they had a couple of hammerheads in San Jose. All they have are whale sharks: toothless and harmless.

I have no idea what you're talking about :)

Just adding another player on a roster full of supremely talented, under-motivated players.

They need to deal Thornton and Marleau for talented, gritty younger players. Make it Couture's team. Never mind adding another player who is gifted, but indifferent in his play.

Possibly.......but is a shark a fish ? Is a tomato really a fruit ? Is Gary Bettman merely an evolved Ewok ?
