08:17 AM ET 06.06 | Not surprisingly, Stephen Drew's agent took offense to what Diamondbacks managing general partner Ken Kendrick had to say about his client. Kendrick said earlier in the day during a radio interview that Drew "and his representatives" are more focused on his impending free agency than on helping the Diamondbacks this season. Agent Scott Boras suggested a review of the play on which Drew was injured as a demonstration of his commitment to the team. ... Boras said to suggest that Drew is focused on free agency "makes no sense." "If you're talking about what the best thing Stephen can do for himself, that's to play baseball and play a lot of it," Boras said.

Two things if management thinks he is dogging them and they think he is not going to resign with them TRADE him and get something for him and shut up about it.

This story has a familiar ring to it being that Stephen is J.D.'s younger brother.

Hmm.....whether is it is correct or not, do you think calling out a player in public is a positive way of conducting business? I think not.

Good observation on JD Drew linkage.

Another Boras thread.

Atleast George would call guys out who were playing...

Not sure of the status of Drew's Rehab (if he's dogging it or not) - but he's in his walk year... I'd think it would be in his best interest to get out there and put some numbers up

It would be weird for a guy to tank the season going into free agency. That's when we usually see career years out of players. But his numbers are way down this year. Going to cost him some money.

Carl Pavano disagrees.
