Mountaineers begging for change?

08:27 AM ET 06.07 | Change has been the operative word in Morgantown, where Dana Holgorsen's staff no longer includes Jeff Casteel, Bill Kirelawich or David Lockwood -- and where Joe DeForest, Keith Patterson and Shannon Dawson are in. [The new arrivals] seem to be ideal fits as the program moves into the Big 12. Others around the program are more blunt. They say the change is something that not only will help in recruiting but also boost morale and the energy around the facility, something that was sorely needed. ... "You notice a huge difference [from Year 1 to Year 2 of the Holgorsen era]," [Geno Smith] said. "The biggest change is that everyone's getting along with each other."

I don't know if those guys were on the offensive side, but WV didn't seem to have too many issues offensively, most games.

I don't follow WV very close but my guess is that the departing coaches were ones that the previous coach hired and Halgorsen inherited when he took over. If that's the case, not a surprise move.

True dat.

Let's review the situation after the first home loss blowout, if there is one.

Would love to do that...but we don't go there until November so it's likely someone else will make that contribution ahead of us.

BTW, the thieving mountaineers stole our pitching coach. Two wins this weekend and we're headed to the CWS. Go Frogs!

No worse than 2nd in the Big 12 IMHO...

They can score with the best of them

That's pretty high for a newb team in the league, you pizzssing off all the B12 regulars with that, ya know.

CCL...WVU is legit... Only team thats better than them right now might be OU.. And they get OU in Morgantown.. Of course the season has to play out.. But their schedule sets up real nice:Saturday, Sept. 15 : James Madison Dukes vs. West Virginia, TBD (FedEx Field, Landover, MD)Saturday, Sept. 22 : Maryland Terrapins at West Virginia, TBDSaturday, Sept. 29 : Baylor Bears at West Virginia, TBDSaturday, Oct. 6 : West Virginia at Texas Longhorns, TBDSaturday, Oct. 13 : West Virginia at Texas Tech Red Raiders, TBDSaturday, Oct. 20 : Kansas State Wildcats at West Virginia, TBDSaturday, Oct. 27 : Open Date on ScheduleSaturday, Nov. 3 : TCU Horned Frogs at West Virginia, TBDSaturday, Nov. 10 : West Virginia at Oklahoma State Cowboys, TBDSaturday, Nov. 17 : Oklahoma Sooners at West Virginia, TBDSaturday, Nov. 24 : West Virginia at Iowa State Cyclones, TBDSaturday, Dec. 1 : Kansas Jayhawks at West Virginia, TBD

With all the offseason losses in Norman, not so sure they are the top this year.

And yes, for a newbie, WV got a good schedule. Very different than the hornytoads; their schedule is a bit<h

I've said the schedule was in their favor all along...only the rusty cows away among the contenders. Would say it is like UGa getting a sched break but at least they have to play every conference opponent...even though most of them are at home.
