Saban prefers different approach to SEC slate

I wouldn't mind a 9 game in conference schedule. I'd rather we drop the easier teams that we play out of conference, but the season is already very grueling.

Got to agree with Sabin on this one.

"Saban indicated that he would like to see the league go to a nine-game schedule, even if it means Alabama backing away from nonconference games such as the Sept. 1 opener against Michigan in the Dallas area. "

Glad he thinks 9 games a needed, but why drop games like Mich. How bout dropping the likes of Western KY or Western Carolina ?

Well, everybody is already familiar with heat and humidity (considering the University of Alaska doesn't play CFB), but not everybody is familiar with ice and snow -- so where's the beef? Seems fair to me that way. ;-)

I can understand hosting a lesser in-state school to help out little brother financially, but an out of state FCS school hopefully will be a thing of the past.

If the compromise playoff does include a big SOS component, I think that will finally change.

Why does that make him a ****? When you throw in a variable like snow, you don't get the true determination of the better team - the game will be won by the team that is best equipped/experienced in playing in snow.

Snow, wind, rain, even sweltering heat are all elements that can affect the game's outcome. It would probably be better for all football games to be played in domes. Most other sports have enough games so that one or two bad weather days won't impact a season very much, but in football the short duration of the season means that even one weather-related loss can be huge.

Should a game, especially one as important as a playoff game, determine the better team - or the team that is better equipped to play in a particular environment?
