08:22 AM ET 06.08 | Calgary assistant Craig Hartsburg saw the writing on the wall when the team hired Bob Hartley, and the club made it official in releasing Hartsburg as associate coach this week. "As an older coach in the league, I kinda sensed that maybe it's the best situation for him having his own guys," [said Hartsburg]. ... One thing, for sure, Clint Malarchuk will return. The Flames goalie coach, who was hired by Sutter last summer, is returning to the city next week to sit down with Hartley. "The two of them have had a couple of very good conversations -- 'very good' as characterized by both Bob and Clint," said Feaster. "My sense is -- as Bob has indicated to me -- barring anything unexpected or unforeseen when they meet, Clint will be back."

Sorta like having a kickers' coach in football. They're over behind the field house doing God knows what.

Since this story somehow got top billing, if POTF or any other Montreal residents swing by today you mind describing just how bad these stupid protests are interfering with the F1 stuff? I'm thinking about heading up there for Sat & Sun and wanna know if getting around town is going to be a pain in the ass or anything like that. Thx boys

That's because Malarchuk wears Flames resistant underwear.

It's always a pain in the ass getting around Montreal, just like many other big cities. Add to it the F1 and you have major headaches. Still worth it IMO. F1 is quite a show. Beats the NASCAR crap any day.

That's just wrong Danny. Funny, yes..........but wrong! :-( But, I don't blame you for your distorted outlook. Burkie can do that to good people.

By looking at the threads today, I guess the playoffs are over. Did the Devils concede to the Kings when I wasn't looking?

They're having massive student protests as of late, and the F1 events have already been disturbed somewhat. The open day was cancelled, and last night cops had to kettle like thousands of protesters who were trying to create havoc on Crescent St. I want to go, but not if everything is a hassle.

How could've predicted that hiring Michel Therrien to coach the Montreal Canadiens would've produced such civil unrest? ;-)
