11:04 AM ET 06.09 | Paul Maurice recently said he hoped to be back in coaching next season. And he will be -- in Russia. Maurice, the former coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, has been given a one-year contract by Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League, it was announced Friday. Former Canes assistant coach and goaltending coach Tom Barrasso will join Maurice's staff as an assistant.

He must be desperate, after what happened last year with the locomotive team getting killed in a plane crash I thought many would think twice about going over there.

Russian Planes have a lot to be desired , but when the Pilots are fueled by Vodka the ride could be bumpy ;)

Look what he's had to work with these aren't line ups dotted with HoFers on them. Christ not even in their own homes
