Secret to Pujols' resurgence

09:43 AM ET 06.10 | It's hard to imagine Albert Pujols doing anything quietly considering the attention he draws with his gaudy power statistics, violent swing and massive contract. But with Mike Trout grabbing most of the headlines in recent weeks, Pujols has raised his average from .211 on May 20 to .253 on Saturday with a relatively under-the-radar 18-game surge in which he has hit .354 (23 for 65) with six homers, seven doubles, 18 runs batted in, 10 walks and eight strikeouts. "Being patient is the key," said Pujols, whose struggles in April, when he hit .217 with no homers and four RBIs, contributed to the team's 6-14 start. "When we were going through that losing stretch, I felt like I had to do extra and was chasing pitches outside the strike zone."

Wow. T&R just put one on the tee. I will reluctantly refrain.

I was threatening to put him on the bench of my fantasy team.....clearly that woke his arse up

I fortuitously traded for him about a week before he got hot.

It's the gel in his hair cream!!! It's called Clemons & Cansco's Extra Hold!!!

The new batting coach is now aplying the low T gel to the appropriate part of the bat while preaching patience.

Funny thing is that Cardinals fans were all angry about losing him to them saying they knew all along that he was going downhill after his slow start to Cardinal fans nowhere to be found on any forum about Pujols after his resurgence.

You do that?

Things still haven't change with him. He still believes he is the man and is the only one on the team that can hit and play defense.

Something tells me that your other 4 posts are of the same caliber.

I think he meant to say "being A patient", not "being patient", because we all know that if he's having a 'resurgence', he's back on the juice.

End of his contract he will be past 50. Going to have to use a wheel chair at first. When they say he on the juice they mean geritol.

Fortunately for Pujols MLB doesn't test for HGH in season.

Your lack of ability to add 10 years to his age when the contract was signed is concerning. Did you manage to get past 2nd grade? Because it does not seem as if you did. Pujols will be 41 when his contract ends. Then a 5 yr. wait until induction into the Hall of Fame. If you don't think so, you might want to check his career statistics.
