08:05 AM ET 06.11 | Justin Blackmon's NFL career hadn't been off to the most promisting of starts, and that was before he was arrested in Oklahoma. He has received mixed reviews throughout offseason team activities, even being called out publicly by head coach Mike Mularkey for being lost at times. ... [Jaguars GM Gene Smith] will now be under an even bigger microscope. PFW talked to some NFL teams leading up to the draft that had at least four receivers ranked higher than Blackmon, so while the GM was mostly lauded for trading up to get the highest-rated player on his board, Blackmon's offseason already has league observers openly questioning whether Smith targeted the wrong guy.

If Blackmon does a JRuss, its the kind of pick that can lose a GM his job.

I think I read Blackmon has signed an endorsement deal for a hangover relief pill. ;)

Wow, talk about slow. How's about a comment that isn't 9 months old.

Don't have much sympathy for this. Short leash and cut him quickly if he can't own up. This is his second offense already?

Make him use part of his contract money for a Babysitter/Driver/Trainer/Dr Phil.

There would be a bidding war if he got cut, unless he's as much trouble on the field as off.
If a rookie gets cut, is he still subject to the rookie salary cap? Or is he a free agent that can negotiate any kind of deal? The sad thing is, he could actually end up with a better deal if he got cut, and he's probably already got a signing bonus and some guaranteed money in his pocket, if he hasn't spent it all on bling, booze, blow and babes yet.

Not sure about if there is a cap hit. But as of when the story broke, he had not signed a contract yet. I would expect there to be all kinds of conditions set on his money now.

Sad part is, this already exists. There is a # players can call 24hrs/day for someone to come and pick them up if they are too impaired to drive.

So, I'd think this plays in the Jags favor if he hasn't signed yet. His agent's got to be steaming; hope he's got Rosenhaus.

Typical recent Jaguars drafting disaster. Give him 40 balls to catch and trade him to Cincy....He's got an arrest history and no brains, he'll fit right in.

Funny that leading up to the draft all we heard was great a guy he was. What he did was way wrong, but lets be honest, guys have done worse and gotten a second chance before him. Let the kid play before we tear him down.

Let the kid keep his nose clean and stay out of jail so he can play. It's his responsibility to do that.
Of course, responsibility seems to be a dirty word in the Age of Entitlement.
