08:10 AM ET 06.11 | About a week removed from the possibility of playing against each other, the odds are suddenly better that Tim Duncan and another veteran big man will play on the same team. The Spurs will consider everything and everyone this summer when free agency begins. But one option tossed out this weekend by one in the Spurs organization is not just another name. Kevin Garnett. ... Some will have more money to offer than the Spurs will. Some might have more young talent to put around him. All the Spurs could give Garnett is the closest thing to what he had in Boston, a veteran core with a chance to contend. But it's the pairing of Garnett with Duncan that would make this free-agency signing a stunning story.

Morning .....there was an article in sports illustrated a few weeks ago, on Tim Duncan " 21 Shades of Grey", where Duncan has said that he hates Garnett, and that garnett has always tried to punk him in their carreers in head to head matchups....this should be interesting

If you ask me, he kinda did with the bit_ch slap he gave Duncan earlier in their careers.

He will get the proverbial morning **** on this article which is normally reserved for Manu...Sorry about the Celt's loss CC

The Truth was awful all series.

Was servicable enough at 36 this year... He'll be a year older next year and Tim Duncan will be 37, production will *likely* be on the decline for both of these guys... So why would this make for a "stunning story"?

This could work for one season. Neither would have to play heavy minutes and KG could play pick and pop with Parker all day.

June 11, 2012  09:09 AM ET

This could work, 20-25 minutes for both will keep them fresh and you know with Pop the Spurs will contend. Garnett has to look at the option of going out winning and not with likes of say a Nets team or any of those other teams who won't win anything....Pacers, Sixers, Hawks, Celts(too old now) of the world, yeah, you know the ones!

Duncan is finished, Garnett is close to finished. The Spurs need to get younger not older.

Garnett and Ray Allen are both chasing rings. One or the other is going to South Beach. I could see the Heat dumping Joel Anthony and grabbing Garnett for small change.
