Time to consider more drastic measures with Lincecum

08:14 AM ET 06.11 | Since May 4, the Giants are 0-8 in Tim Lincecum starts, including Sunday's, but a sparkling 22-5 in games he didn't start. Yes, if the Giants had been getting anything close to a decent W-L record in Lincecum's last eight starts (say, 5-3), the Giants would be tied with the Dodgers right now, with the best record in baseball, instead of being 5 games back. That is stunning to look at like that, at least to me. It has to be driving Lincecum mad and keeping Bruce Bochy, Dave Righetti and Brian Sabean up late at night pondering what to do next. If it continues for even one more start, I don't think there's a question the Giants have to seriously consider skipping a Lincecum start or two.

He didn't have much against the Rangers last night ... but then, the Rangers often make pitchers look a little wonky. Going 22-5 in the games Linceum DOESN'T start is an amazing stat. Time to shut him down for a while.

I benched him this week on my fantasy team in favor of Zito.
Zito.
If that doesn't tell you how bad things have gotten for Timmy, nothing will.

How can you feel sorry for the Giants who sign him long tern. Now they have two problems Barry and Tim. I think Tim's problem is simple he got the money now and the ring also and now he has nothing to play for.

Tim has had nothing good all year long. He was a fluke that had a great year and then has had 2 lousy years since. I don't think anyone in their right mind less the Padres that would take a gamble on gettng this guy. Lets face it So California is not going to the playoffs this year.

zito, lincecum, both teams are pitching too poor, but lincecum its completely out of order but there its something very good about this pitcher, he its signed only for two years and that sure favors the giants in great deal,,,,

Shut him down for a couple of weeks. Then, try him again. Something is wrong, folks.

Tim turned down a long-term deal. Think his agent is kicking himself about now?

maybe its time to do more than trade lincecum, maybe the harsh reality is that its time to send him down to triple A Fresno where he can get whatever mechanical problems he has in his delivery worked out and become again the two time Cy Young winning pitcher his contract calls for him to be because sadly up to this point he surely hasnt pitched like a 2 time Cy Young winning pitcher and has truthfully been nothing more than a disappointment to baseball fans everywhere
