08:17 AM ET 06.11 | For the first time in their short history, the Nationals are having a grand old time these days, completing a sweep over the Red Sox over the weekend. And as [Stephen Strasburg], Bryce Harper and the rest of the gang authoring baseball's best and most fun story in 2012 took aim on The Hub, you couldn't miss the legend growing in both directions: Fenway's, in its 100th anniversary season, and that of [Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper]. ... On the second anniversary of his major-league debut, he hit 100 m.p.h. on the radar gun for the first time this season and now is 4-0 with a 2.74 ERA over his past four starts. "It's like looking at a rainbow," Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine memorably told reporters. "You don't miss it. It's a rather beautiful sight."

So far...so good...1st place in the tough NL East is no small accomplishment...so far.
Keep it up Strasburg and Harper!

Their pitching looked good and they hit in the clutch which was what the Sox failed to do this weekend. Still lots of months to go but I'm glad to see the Nats doing as well as they are.

Love him or hate him, Harper is fun to watch ... as is the rest of this team. They're built -- it seems -- to last (even with Werth's contract). I catch 'em whenever I can, but it'll take time to build up the faith among D.C.'s fan-base. If they're not still in contention when football season (and RGIII!) rolls around, it'll get mighty lonely in that beautiful new stadium. Still, it's good for baseball -- rejoice in resurrection of this franchise!

Can't wait til they miss the playoffs. Then the real "fans" show up.

You've once again showed that you don't know what you are talking about.

Time for a new pic for him.

Just like a lot of franchises - Right? Still it doesn't matter. I've lived in the DC-Metro area since 1992. And this is the first time since the Nationals moved to town that baseball is "vibrant". Use to be the Orioles - who, just "meh". So what if they don't make the playoffs this year - the moves the management have made indicate a commitement to possibly building a winning franchise for the long run. So for your negativity - so what....

Strasburg was just plain nasty Friday night. Haven't see a pitcher that dominant since Pedro. National fans should be excited, this team is going to be relevant for a long time.

To me a better story would be "Yankees Move Into 1st in AL East"....maybe we'll see that happen in the near future? Who knows, but that would interest me more than the Washington Nats doing well.

That division is legit, best in baseball by far up to this point.
