08:18 AM ET 06.11 | Mickey Mitchell, a 6-foot-6, small forward from Prestonwood Christian turned more than a few heads earlier this month at "Super Soph Camp," which was hosted at Woodward Academy near Atlanta. Arguably the top sophomore in the country, Mitchell did everything and more to live up to the rep that he's built over the years. A freak athlete and exceptional passer, he played all five positions at times and was able to dominate the camp with his versatile play. Doubling as one of the best QB recruits, there is definitely a chance that Mickey could be the most heralded two sport star since VA legend Ronald Curry over a decade ago.

Dantonio and Izzo have made this work in the past. The kid won't get to start BB until after bowl season (not a problem at KY) but it can be done.

The most heralded two sport star since Ronald Curry ... how did that work out? The former QB Curry ended up a seventh round journeyman wide receiver in the NFL while his less-heralded Tidewater QB competitor Michael Vick was drafted #1 and has had a pretty good NFL career ... even with time off for bad behavior. Mitchell might want to focus.

Ronald Curry: 6'2". This kid: A liiiittle bigger . . . UNC had Julius Peppers at the same time, and he went down the football path. Best decision? Maybe, but why shouldn't Mitchell get the chance to play both, at least for a little while?

I was at an NLCS game w/ my dad in Atl when he played for the Falcons in the afternoon, flew in a helicopter over to Fulton Co Stadium and was in center field later the same day.
THAT made an impression on me as a college kid......I was blown away by a guy who could play 2 different pro sports ON THE SAME day. He was unbelievable

I have seen this kid play in person in both sports. He is absolutely GREAT in basketball. Not a stretch at all to say he could and should make many millions in the NBA. In football though he is only good because he is tall, athletic, and playing against no competition. If he chose football he would be very lucky to ever even be drafted. In basketball kid seems like as close to a lock as there is
