Well, naming a team in Nashville the "Canadiens" would be on par with other team names that scream local flavour, such as "Lakers", "Jazz", "Grizzlies", "Hornets", "Wizards", "Raptors" (okay so basically every NBA team name).
And at least people wouldn't conjure up images of Chris Hansen when thinking about your team?

Just the other day I was thinking about how bad of a name the Raptors is....my god, is there really a worse name in pro sports? This was like some marketing guy sitting at his desk (you know the type, he uses alot of buzz words to prove that he's 'got swag', and knows all about 'the game')...so he thinks to himself, 'Man, that Jurassic Park film really cleaned up at the box office...kids really must like dinosaurs. Well then, since the Raptor was even more bad-ass than the T-rex in that film, we just GOTTA name our new team the CRAPTORS'. And on top of that we gotta give'em the lamest colour scheme known to man...some deep purple with red, black & silver.
Seriously, it's one of the most incredible uniform and naming screwjobs ever and the bunch at MLSE just nodded their heads and went right along with it, 'of course mister marketing guru, whatever you say, as long as you make us lots & lots of money'.

I've been pushing a change the name to the Huskies since forever. Besides the fact the name is ridiculous, all they've done with it is suck terribly. Start fresh.
