07:56 AM ET 06.12 | It takes two parties to renegotiate a contract, and it seems the Jaguars have no interest in sitting at the table with Maurice Jones-Drew. "Obviously, he has expressed that he would like to renegotiate," [Gene Smith] said. "And we have expressed again that we feel he has a contract with two years left, that we expect him to fulfill those obligations." ... Smith said Jones-Drew has not told him whether he will attend minicamp. A person familiar with Jones-Drew's thinking said the running back is not planning on attending, barring a change of mind. Reached by phone, Jones-Drew declined to comment about Smith's statements. He also declined to say whether or not he would attend minicamp.

It just keeps getting better and better for the Jags.

One of the few, if not the only, bright spot for this team. This is a shame for a guy that's put everything into that team year after year. And, he's been good for their PR, too.

This is no way to treat the face of the franchise.

I think this is what happens when you have an owner that only has a team as an investment opportunity rather than knowing or caring about the game itself.

Jones no one force you to sign that contract. I am sure at the time you thought it was great deal but since others have got better deals. Lesson here for you and your agent to learn don't sign long term deals. America is not going to feel sorry for you if you don't play big baby.

Ah yes, but the player and agent both can't resist that signing bonus and larger pot of guaranteed money that go along with the long-term deals.

Hmmm, another player dissatisfied with the contract he signed... should name this "The Revis Syndrome"
