08:06 AM ET 06.12 | It didn't take Mike Miller long to return fire. The text message was swift and to the point, only minutes after ESPN reported that he had said these NBA Finals could be the final two weeks of his career. "What!!!!" was the text message reply [Miller] to the Sun Sentinel. A few minutes later, after he had the chance to get to others who had made him aware of the report, came a phone call. "I'm not retiring," he told the Sun Sentinel. "I don't know what I'm doing." The fact that retirement talk had gone public was not nearly as upsetting to Miller as the timing. "What I said is I guess I've got to figure out what is best for me," he said, stressing that the last thing that should stand as an issue on the eve of the NBA Finals was his future.

Nah...not true...
Miller shot 45% from 3pt land this year in 39 games.
The knock on Miller in Miami is his health, not his shot.
Even if he retired, Miami is still over the cap and it would not make a difference because they still would only be able to sign a mid-level exception player.

I was waiting to see the parenthesis with the word sarcasm inside....u cant be serious with that statement??
When is the last time he did anything of value for this team?? His shot is non existent, his defense is laughable (did u see Steistma from BOS constantly blowing by him?) and his reactions are turtle like in quickness....dude is done! I used to like Mike some years ago but his feet and knees are shot

Well the league office and the refrees will do their best to steal a game or two for Miami... if I'm OKC I'd boycott the finals. It's a farse. Miami wouldn't be here if the refrees didn't conspire to hand them the first two games. It's a lost cause OKc. It's over before it even started. Personally I have stopped watching anything Miami or Lebron....

Like I said, even if he retires we are already at 78.5 m in salary. Toss his 6m out the window and now we are at 72.5
That is still 7m over the current cap.
So...even if Miller retires, Miami can only use the mid-level.
So...to answer your question, no. I prefer to see him get healthy and back on the court.
Mike Miller had 2 big games during the Pacer series that really got Miami going. Never discount a timely 3pt shot, even if it is 1 or 2 times a game.
