Rockies ready to take drastic measures?

08:10 AM ET 06.12 | The Rockies are flirting with history -- great ignominious history. The 1930 Phillies are generally regarded as baseball's abyss when it comes to rotations, posting a 6.15 ERA. ... But it has come to this: With Jeff Francis replacing Jamie Moyer -- the question is unavoidable -- why not go with Drew Pomeranz and Tyler Chatwood? A few players have privately wondered the same thing, encouraged by the talent and potential of the 23-year-old left-hander and 22-year-old righty. With the results getting old, wouldn't the Rockies be better served just going young, teaming these two with Friedrich and Alex White? [Jim Tracy] quietly traveled to Triple-A Colorado Springs recently, thinking along those same lines.

Tough times in the Rockies...

Just did a little Crack research and found Scott Kazmir, Javier Vazquez, Armando Galarraga might still be available...

They're all younger than Moyer and Galarraga even has an almost perfect game...

But looking at the Pitching staff, you can only blame the GM (or whoever's making the Personnel decisions) for this...

Uh, yeah, I think something drastic has to be done.

They are wasting the prime years of Tulo and CarGo.

Not even the mailman that delivers to his house every day will listen to him as he is yelled at to get off Lou's stoop.

The real problem is the coaching staff.... during all these years of pitchers coming and going through the Rockies' turnstile, there has been one constant -- Bob Apodaca. He's ruined more pitchers than the Big Red Machine. Nothing will improve with this team's pitching staff until Apodaca is GONE.

Good point.

Good to hear Jim Tracy is capable of thinking quietly. He is usually sounding tired after games talking about their latest loss. Something is not right in this organization.

It is a easy choice go young because you are not winning with older farts and your fans deserve to see what the future looks like in the mountains.
