08:21 AM ET 06.12 | The confetti had fallen, and, as the Cup was paraded around the Staples Center ice, Martin Brodeur pondered what comes next. [Brodeur] acknowledged that regardless of the fact that he wants to continue career his career and cannot envision doing it anywhere else but in the Devils' uniform he has worn for 18 seasons, circumstances beyond his control might send him in a different direction. Circumstances beyond president and general manager Lou Lamoriello's control, as well, said the all-time goaltender who will go to July 1 unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career. ... "I don't see myself at all [playing for another team], and I don't want to, but it could be out of my hands."

So on the news I hear this morning that he's "coming back next season"
I do realise this is the NY POST, but that last line, "I don't see myself at all [playing for another team], and I don't want to, but it could be out of my hands." certainly seems like he may play elsewhere is Lou doesn't want to open the wallet.

Who do they have behind him? Unless they trade for the other Bernier out of LA, not sure who their goalie would be

June 12, 2012  09:02 AM ET

After his run this year, he has bought himself another year. As long as he plays 50-55 games and gets rest so he can go on one last run.

Fehr and the Midget, (fall on FOX)
Watch the hilarious hijinks as two clueless wonders try not to scuttle an entire hockey season, while simultaneously pleading poverty for both billionaire owners and millionaire players...all while trying to line their own pockets.
Enjoy the recurring appearance by Lord Irk as the wacky neighbour that keeps trying to trade evrything he owns

look at how the kings did...now figure that they've got Bernier to move. Should help add another valuable piece. Wow. Exciting times for the Kings. The nice thing is that they can be awfully leisurely with Bernier, they don't HAVE to move him right now, so they can really hold out to land the right player or prospect.

plenty of room on the King's bandwagon. You can also join the Brad Doty fan club.

June 12, 2012  09:52 AM ET

or the Jonathan Swift fan club (I prefer that mess up even more than the Brad Doty).

Unfortunately, I can too but I'd rather see him more like Wilson on Home Improvement. And "Tool Time" would be a perfect name.
