08:06 AM ET 06.13 | Peyton Manning may not be "there" yet, but Broncos fans can hope enough time remains in the offseason to close the gap. It was clear during the Denver Broncos' minicamp [Tuesday] that Manning's velocity hasn't quite returned after multiple neck surgeries cost him all of the 2011 season, but he does look sharp and accurate with intermediate throws. And doctors continue to stay upbeat about his long-term prognosis. "I still have a lot of work to do," Manning told USA TODAY [Tuesday]. ... "[Being] injured was new for me. I thought I had a good attitude about it and tried to handle it the best I could. Certainly, it feels good to be back out on the field. I continue to rehab. I have work to do and progress that I still need to make."

I hope that after a couple of hits this season he's still standing, and close to 100%.
Mangler.

This is the calm before the storm. He'll never make through the season.

This is similar news to the Manning injury update last off-season, for all you with amnesia.

Denver receivers couldn't catch the ball if Peyton was throwing at full velocity. They're used to seeing a wounded duck wobbling its way through the air.
They've got to work up to it slowly.

In fairness to the Denver receivers they have a whole new system to learn too. No more waving your arms over your head and screaming over here during the route.

Funny about all the reports of how well he was doing...and now, we're back to rising concern.

It seems kind of doubtful that his game will ever be at 100%.

A bad neck, replacement referee's, smoking fast linebackers, porous offensive line, foreign doctors, clandestine surgeries .....there's obviously nothing wrong with his stones. Might want to check him for brain damage though.

Sure it will. Why not? Players and coaches have talked for years about giving 110% so 100% is now possible. It is the old 90% I suppose.

Because of the severity of his injury. Because of the amount of time he's been away from live game action. Because he's 2 yrs older than the last time he played. Because one clean hit may nullify all the hard work and rehab he has gone through.
