Bulls headed in the wrong direction

08:15 AM ET 06.13 | Conventional wisdom -- in Chicago, anyway -- holds that a healthy Derrick Rose would have been leading the Bulls into the NBA Finals this week. As true as that might be, it's still a dubious supposition that illustrates the biggest hurdle the Bulls face in winning an NBA championship in the current environment: everything has to be just right. ... [Carlos Boozer] might be the only highest-paid-player in the NBA who often doesn't play in crunch time. [Joakim Noah], besides prone to injury and inconsistency, are borderline All-Star players with Derrick Rose and trade-bait without him. This year's Finals is painful evidence of the Bulls' current roster plight of being stuck in the middle. They don't have the superstars the Heat have; and they don't draft as well as the Thunder.

You're referring to Lebron and his man purses right? I'm surprised they didn't censor your slur of him lol.

It isn't that the Thunder draft better, it's that when they drafted Rose he came into a veteren team (Salmons/Gordon/Larry Hughes/Gooden/Hinrich) that was already decent in the east and they've had to build on the fly ever since while those guys shuffled out.
The Thunder happened into the perfect storm of team building, they lucked into a superstar and then stayed bad long enough to add 2 other top 4 picks whom they hit on(and Jeff Green at #5 the same year as Durant).
Where the Thunder have been better than everyone else is their trades. they added Sefolosha, Cook, Maynor,Perkins all while giving up nothing. And those guys play their roles when needed to perfection (obviously Maynor is out with injury this year). The only dumb move they've made is rescinding the Tyson Chandler trade

Agreed, the one place where the Bulls have failed in building this team is they've never been able to add a second scorer to help Rose out. If they had that this team is deeper than all but maybe the Thunder (Gibson/Asik would start for a lot of teams and the Brewer/Korvers of the world are great role player types).

All that and not ONE quality SG...thats their biggest need. They have too many frontcourt players who cant score consistently. A good SG would alleviate all of that..

The Bulls never were in position to draft where the Thunder drafted. They obviously have Rose, but drafted players like Taj Gibson, L Deng, Noah has been solid although injured. I think its tough to say that about their drafts because the Thunder drafted in the 2,4,3 spots to get their top 3 players where the Bulls won the lottery and had to draft mostly in the mid to late lottery to get their players.

What are you guys talking about?!?!?!? The Bulls sign the mighty, incredible Rip Hamilton!
You know.....the guy that it didn't matter if he didn't play during the unimportant regular season.....because he was gonna give them 20 PPG during the play-offs. Yeah....THAT GUY!
Next season, they can just put him in cold storage again......and pull him out in May when they REALLY need him ;-) .

The bulls messed up in last years draft by not trading up a few spots to try and land klay Thompson. Although the bulls need to realize at this point their at least two years out of winning a championship, time to do a overhaul. They were looking at barnes, maybe Paxson agrees? their not happy with Deng for wanting to play in the olympics, I could see them sending him and boozer saying it's a package deal. To be honest that is a good trade for the Kings anyway, they need a 3 and a 4 and they need some vet leadership. And don't forget the bulls got the next pau gasol in Spain who will come over in a couple years and also that bobcats pick which will end up being the one that wins the lottery. So end of the day make that move and then sign ray Allen and they don't miss a beat in the building process.

Noah is 'limited' enough to out score Serge Ibaka.....and he out-rebounds Ibaka too.
But then......Ibaka is just a fringe player.....so no big deal......right?
