08:32 AM ET 06.13 | Since last season, when he took the recruiting world by story, Steve Lavin's road has been a rocky one. After a nightmare season on and off the court, would Lavin be able to regain his once-furious momentum? As of Monday, that question received a rather forceful response. The answer? Yes. The proof? The commitment of 6-foot-8 forward Chris Obekpa, the No. 77-ranked player in the class of 2012 and one Red Storm fans are hoping will be able to contribute as a defender and shot-blocker as early as this fall. Whether Obekpa is ready to bang in the Big East as a freshman could be a key factor for a team that will still primarily feature sophomores, but more than that ... it's a sign that Lavin's recruiting momentum is officially back on track.

Don't know much about the kid but if he can form a tandem in the post with God's Gift Achiuwa then the Red Storm will be all right.
The most important thing for the team is Lavin to be healthy. Not having him there everyday with the team clearly hurt them last season.
